DART Light Rail Construction Update

May 20, 21, 27, 28, 29, 2000

Part of North Dallas DART Rail Service Provided By Buses Last Two Weekends in May

Customers who ride DART's Red Line light rail to Park Lane Station will be riding a bus for part of the trip the last two weekends of May.

Light rail service between Mockingbird and Park Lane rail stations will be suspended on those weekends -- including Memorial Day, Monday, May 29 -- to allow construction at Mockingbird Station. Light rail trains will operate north to Mockingbird Station only. Specially-marked DART buses will be available to transport passengers between Mockingbird, Lovers Lane and Park Lane stations all day on these days:

Saturday, May 20
Sunday, May 21

Saturday, May 27
Sunday, May 28
Monday, May 29 (Memorial Day)

Blue Line rail service to Mockingbird Station will not be affected by the construction. Mockingbird Station is the northernmost stop on the Blue Line.

The construction is part of DART's Blue Line light rail expansion into northeast Dallas and Garland. This extension of the Blue Line from DART's Mockingbird Station will reach White Rock Lake Station near Northwest Highway in fall 2001 and downtown Garland in fall 2002.
