DART to Bountiful Holiday Shopping

Who needs reindeer when you've got a DART train or bus?

DART's modern bus and train fleet is the way to get to fascinating specialty boutiques, fabulous department stores and handy bargain stores, just a short stroll or a shuttle ride away from a DART Rail station or transit center. Here are some shopping spots where you can find everything from a top-of-the-line fountain pen to the perfect party dress, from that must-have DVD to Santa's surprise for the good children on your list.

Uptown & Cityplace
West Village Beckons with Chic Shops & Fun Feeling
Swanky West Village, 3699 McKinney Avenue, between Blackburn and Lemmon, is just two blocks west of Cityplace Station's west entrance. Stores include home decorating treasure chests like Legacy Trading Company and Design House Stockholm, as well as fashion favorites like Ralph Lauren Polo and Banana Republic. Exotic boutiques like Tommy Bahama's and Near & Far complement the high-style denim of Lucky Brand Jean Company. There's even a new Vespa scooter dealership next door to the Paciugo Italian ice-cream parlor and beneath the new Magnolia Theater, a five-screen art film center opening in mid-December. Stores are open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.; for West Village information, call 214-559-2740.
