Fair showcases recycling products, ideas

DART's Environmental Fair helps prepare for Earth Day festivities

Underscoring its commitment to a cleaner environment, DART displays environmentally friendly products from member cities and vendors during its April 16 Environmental/Recyclers Fair.

Attendees can learn how to compost, play an Eco Shopping Game and see examples of recycled products to prepare for Earth Day festivities on Tuesday, April 22.

EVENT: DART Environmental/Recycler Fair
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, April 16, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
PLACE: DART Headquarters, 1401 Pacific, Akard Station

DART's transit fleet keeps getting cleaner. Each of its 95 electric light rail vehicles has the emissions of a golf cart. The agency already has one of the nation's largest fleets of clean-fueled buses and is taking the next steps to bringing zero emission buses to North Texas. Irving, Garland, Richardson and Plano are some of DART's member cities participating in the fair. DART vendors will showcase their products and how they recycle everything from scrap metal to batteries, fluorescent lights, paint and solvents and nearly 400 tons of paper.
